Win a Quilt!

Oh my goodness! Dana over at Old Red Barn Co is holding a wonderful competition where you can have the chance to win one of three ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS quilts. As you can see by the photo, they’re creative and decorative, made of 100% cotton and completely snugglable!

I’m so excited that I had to enter and blog about it, despite the fact I have an exam in an hour and a half. THAT’S how great I think these quilts are.

Woo, I hope I win!

Money, Money, Money… Oy.

I can’t believe how expensive things are getting lately. It’s crossed the border into ridiculous, and it’s fast approaching insane. James and I have noticed it a lot when we go and buy groceries. The price of staple foods like milk and cheese have increased SO much! A two litre bottle of milk here in New Zealand is closer to $5.00 – In fact, I think it’s even gone over now. James and I are a lot more pickier with what we’re buying from the supermarket now, and are getting better at purchasing exactly what we need, rather than what we want.

The prices really make it difficult when buying non-essential things that have become essential. Like clothes for me right now: None of my summer clothing fits me because of the weight I’ve lost, so I’m having to go out and buy new stuff. I’ve been pretty careful, only getting the absolute essentials.

Things are a bit of a pain in the neck when you consider that I wear glasses. My prescription changes very quickly – I’ve had three changes in prescription in two years. This means that I go through eyeglasses pretty damn quick. ZenniOptical.com has a huge range of surprisingly cheap frames and lenses, including sunsensor lenses, sunnies and bifocals or progressives. They have prescription glasses for less than $10, which is amazing considering the price of everything else seems to be going up.

SleepySleeps…

My sleeping schedule is completely buggered. I didn’t fall asleep until 1.30-2.00 AM last night and I’ve only just woken up: It’s 10.20AM now. I have no idea how my sleeping schedule reversed itself so quickly and easily, because when I was at uni, I was getting up before 8am every day. And on the weekends, I’d barely sleep past 9.

Oy.

In other news, i think I’m coming down with something. My nose is blocked and my throat is kind of tender. I’ve also been feeling nothing but cold the last few days. I really hope it’s nothing but a little bit of hayfever, because I really don’t have the time to get sick.

Canadian reverse phone lookups

Receiving a phone call from an unknown individual, or receiving a call and not recognising the caller ID can get seriously confusing. If you’re a Canadian resident and want to figure out who exactly has been calling you without the hassle of the “Hi, who is this and why did you call me” phone call, you can make use of the canada reverse phone directory, allowing you to search the cell phone, home phone or business number that called and establish exactly who called you: So you can decide whether to call them back or not.

Unproductive

I’m really struggling to stay productive lately, which is a shame because I’m way too busy. My concentration levels are just so buggered, because I’m essentially in “Holiday Mode” already. I mean, It’s exactly 22 days until I’ll be leaving for my big trip around the world, and only 15 days until I’m done with exams and basking in the sun in Sydney with my family and friends.

I’m getting way too excited WAY too early, and it’s quite tedious. It almost makes me wish that I didn’t know I was going away: That way I wouldn’t have anything to look forward to and I’d be more inclined to concentrate.

Oy.

I’ve got so much stuff to do before I leave too, and It’s boggling my mind. On top of organising packing for about four different climates, I’ve got to sort out the apartment and bills for whilst I’m away, clean the apartment so I don’t come home to moldy food and dirty dishes, and get all my exams out of the way.

Hahah, so who wants to come and help me do shit? ;)
